This is what LG would have preferred doing at Chichen Itza all day - play in the dirt. We went on a tour and I put him down every chance we got, but mostly he was being carried around. It was a hot day and I think that was a little tough on the little man. There was a time where he was too tired, hot, and cranky. Overall he held up really well, though. He's a very resilient little guy. We've put a lot of demands on his "schedule" this week and he's been great about the changes.
Here we are. Safely riding along with our child securely fastened into his car seat. Ahhh.... seat belts would be helpful to lock down the car seat. This was the best vehicle ride this child has ever had. None of those 5 point harnesses holding him back from all the exploring he wants to do.
Sand. Fun, fun sand. Fun for the fingers. Fun for the toes. Fun for the mouth. Just plain fun.
More fun. Endless fun.
We found the Mexican men to be extremely fun around LG. Here in the states, guys will take a look at the baby, tell us how cute he is, maybe give him a quick squeeze on the cheek, but then they're on their way. In Mexico, the men were so animated. They were dancing, jumping around, playing peek-a-boo... working hard to get a laugh out of the babe. It was so fun to see - and Ian loved it too. He's all about getting more attention.
Oh, the silly things we do for a picture.
So sad - our last night in Cancun. This was our favorite restaurant - Jugo de Limon. The atmosphere was perfect for having the little man. The tables overlooked the dolphins at the aquarium. And one of the walls was a shark tank. If ever Ian became bored with his surroundings, we'd just take him over to the shark tank. Worked like a charm.
Cancun was a fantastic family vacation for the five of us. I think the warm Caribbean air and sunshine was needed. Ian may have even gotten a little spoiled. We got home to temperatures in the teens and tried to go for a hike over the weekend. He was having none of it and we had to abort the mission. I think all three of us are ready to go back to Mexico.
